Welcome to Central Region

Respite Support and Navigation Services is managed by Autism Nova Scotia (ANS) in the central region of Nova Scotia. Autism Nova Scotia is a non-profit organization with core values of Inclusion, Respect, Collaboration, Acceptance, and Courage.

We are passionate and dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding of the multiple benefits of respite for all individuals and their families. We provide training and resources to families, respite providers and community members of respite opportunities in the community. We advocate with individuals and families to receive the appropriate support. We navigate services tailored to meet the individuals support needs as well as reaching their full potential, while also navigating caregiver needs. Our cross Respite database supports various individuals and families with diverse support needs across the lifespan.

Through Autism Nova Scotia, individuals and families can onboard our respite database to connect with vetted independent respite providers and other respite resources including community events, respite funding options, workshops, programs, and educational material.
